For this kind of Lo-Fi - Rap Beat, the main focus of my mixing process was to make the lead vocal as raw as possible but keeping intact its flow and natural feel. Filtering, EQ adjustments, vinyl emulation plugins, bit-crushing and saturation were all used to give the track a vintage, degraded, and nostalgic sound.
Synthesizers and femal vocal are hallmark of EDM music. Here I focused on rhythm and beat, scuplting a strong and energetic sound and using the melody to create a catchy riff and therefore an emotional connection with the listener
A bouncy and syncopated beat, light percussions, groovy rhythms and xylophones give the track its exotic and beachy feel that encourage a relaxed and danceable atmosphere. I treated the vocal underlining its soothing quality that complements the laid-back nature of the genre.
